Thanks a lot for offering me a free ticket backward into the time when I was still a high schooler. I was about sixteen years old then. And if my memory serves me right, the year was 1985. Well, I proposed to my English teacher, my supervisor now, to present this song to and discuss it with my classmates. You certainly know at that time songs were not as accessible as they are now. Teaching a song in class was an effective means to involve all students in the lesson. My presentation of the song and the ensuing discussion were very successful. We had lots of fun and ended the presentation with choral singing.
This year, a remake of the same song was suggested by the HAITI devastating earthquake.The unprecedented floodings in Pakistan call for a new remake of the song to demonstrate to us and the Pakistani people that "We are the world" and we do really care. I already expressed my sympathies to our coursemate Saulat Majid in an email two days ago. It would be a good idea if you and other fellow course mattes do the same.
Before I end my comment, what do you think of making the songs teachable through the ESLvideo website?
